BMW M10 rocker cover prior to wet blasting. This item had been exposed to the elements for a number of years and was quite corroded.
Picture
As can be seen in the photo, wet blasting has removed all traces of corrosion from blasted area, leaving some pitting where corrosion was particularly severe. Wet blasting picks out the detail such as the BMW emblem, and the cylinder numbers along edge of rocker cover. Whilst not a contender for a concours restoration, this part will still look smart in an engine bay once fully blasted and burnished.
PictureWeber carburettor. Carburettors are wonderful candidates for wet blasting. I dismantle each carby to reach every external nook and cranny, and then thoroughly rinse and blow dry each part to remove every last grain of blast media from every last air and fuel gallery. This Weber is 35 years old.

Gearbox from a 1984 Nissan Pulsar Exa Turbo. Axle openings, breather, speedo drive, and input shaft seal have been sealed with "no more gaps" to prevent ingress of blast media. To the greatest degree possible, all grease and oil must be removed before blasting.

Pulsar Exa Turbo gearbox after blasting. No more gaps can now be removed, Gearbox did not need to be disassembled prior to blasting.

Kawasaki Z650 engine. This engine was coated in a black "plasticised" coating that was a popular engine coating of the era. Although the coating proved stubborn to remove, the concensus is that the end result justifies the effort.
Picture
With the planned addition of polished side plates and chromed exhausts, this engine will be the stunning centrepiece of a detailed and thorough restoration.

This is the Kawasaki Z1 engine again. I never get sick of seeing how great these things come up in the wet blaster!!

Rocker/cam cover from a Toyota "M" engine. Note the level of corrosion on rear part of the cover that hasn't been blasted. The middle third of the cover has been blasted to remove the corrosion, and the front third has been further blasted to a burnished finish. Some customers are happy with the finish in the middle of the cover, whilst others choose to pay a little more to have the fully burnished finish like the front of the cover.
